The membership itself is the power behind the bargaining committee. Showing solidarity sends a message to the company that the entire membership stands behind their negotiating team and they are not willing to accept a bad deal. You can show solidarity by wearing union apparel or colors, participating in the surveys and meetings that are held, and being active and responsive when/if the negotiating team calls for action.
